... What is Web Resources ... and How To.

The "Perry Dime" (my "10 cents worth" paradigm. Used to be ".02 cents worth", but that's Inflation/Depression for you), anyhoo - People want stuff Cheap, Good and Fast.

Money is typically first concern of biz, orgs and folks in general these days, so Free to Cheapest would be most bang for the least buck. In this scenario is defined as that option with the most free / least expensive components. (see "what's a a web site")

Free - all free component service/sites are rare and usually include some overhead, IE - sub-Domain names only for free, banner ads, and other. Developers and Do-It-Users may end up with multiple resources to cover desired Functions & Features (see basic List).

Cheapest - is relative term. Currently, there appears to be a bit of a pricing war going on so the User and Developer can get really great deals. Domain Names can be purchased for .50 for starters (be aware of terms!, IE length of agreement) and $10/yr in general - if you want to set-up the space & maintain the site yourself in that manner. Services including Domain Name can be $5-ish and less, so expect about $50/yr in those cases.

Good is usually in terms of System Reliability and Support. Generally, people want Product or Service to Work as Advertised and a Person to talk to when it doesn't. They want Reliable - they and their visitors can get to it and have such an experience while there as to want to tell everybody about it. Ideally they'd like support towards mastery of feats and funcs for (a) site set up & maint, (b) content management.

Fast - as in folks - biz or otherwise - don't have a lot of time to learn and manage. Ease of time to set up and use, as well as running fast - both on pc and web server - if developer/owner - as well as visitors to/users of your site.

Thus it appears to be a matter of figuring out what balance of "do-it-yourself" - with corresponding issues of control of, et al, and related costs/benefits -vs- ease, efficiency and other time elements - and their relative costs/benes - is critical in selecting your web (site, etc.) solution.
